The wife arrived at just the wrong time as I needed a guinea pig
She hates water and anything connected to it.
Still, with some grumbling, I found out the backrest works.
Took it to the slip and threw it in with my little one.
He didnt seem to notice any difference between this one and his.
He tested it with a single bladed paddle.
He hasnt quite sorted out how to use the paddle as a rudder, so he has to swap hands.
Not sure if the ridge on the back of the paddle is hindering him too.
Er...praying?
It is sitting better than his as the seat is keeping him in the middle.
I havent put the piece of raised wood across as per the plans, so hes sitting a little lower than normal
Ive taped the pool noodles on. Not sure if I like them, or if they make any real difference to buoyancy on the limit.
Sent him back out sat in the back, with Big Idea in the front as a passenger.
It sat well and looked controllable.
He is sort of lying in the back on a mooring ball thing.
It looks a bit horrible, but didnt seem to worry him.
The wifes boyfriend is recovering from his shoulder injury so he arrived and went fishing for seaweed
The wife lurked a little too long again. I loaded her in the front and put Little Idea in the back as a sort of inboard engine.
She loved it!
Sort of chauffeur driven boat.
It didnt sit as well in the water with her on board.
He spent some time whinging that he couldnt see where he was going.
After some calculations on the combined weights it took and on looking at how low it sat...
I had a go.
I wasnt happy in it. It rocks too much for my liking. It was surprisingly fast though.
I dont like the way it lists and doesnt really want to come back.
I am convinced I will not be trying to paddle it backwards under a pier sat on its nose.
It was enough to convince me to fit the other tank and look at an outrigger.
I cut and offered up the other tank.
...glued it in.
Im currently looking at the outrigger and that pipe I want through the bottom.
