We are a friendly non profit making indoor bowls club.We would welcome new members, beginners can be given free instruction, experienced players are welcome. Our season runs from late September to April each year but you can contact us at any time to receive information. We run friendly leagues within the club as well as "spoons" competitions and other friendly games. To join a league we need to hear from you by August as the teams are drawn in September. You don't have to join a league, there is "free" bowling when you play with whoever else is there at the time - it is all good fun and healthy exercise.

Promotes local interest and knowledge about mental health through meetings, talks and a helpline. Runs three activities directly supporting people with mental difficulties. These are:- The women in mind suport group - for women who feel anxious, depressed or lonely and are in need of a chat in a warm friendly atmosphere. The Befriending Service, offers individual suport by trained befrienders. The Pokesdown Mind Club takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays 2.00pm to 4.00pm at the Pokesdown Youth Club Stourvale Rd Southourne and caters for younger people various social activities and outings are organsised by helpers and members.

Parenting courses run within the Alderney area when the organisers have enough names to form a group. They are usually over several weeks and cover many things related to being parents of young children - behaviour, sleep, helping your child to be confident, safe, respectful and independent. They also help parents learn how to give time to themselves, to manage difficult times and to raise their own self-esteem and confidence. The aim of the Falls Clinic is to see any patient who has fallen and to reduce the risk of further falls by carrying out a medical, physical and environmental assessment. Following referral you will have had a home assessment completed by a health professional. All patients will be given an appointment to attend the Falls Clinic at Alderney Hospital. An ongoing plan of treatment and education will be developed with you for you to continue at home to increase your confidence and reduce your fear of and risk of falling. Ongoing support and follow-up is provided by the Elderley Resource Team at Woodlands.
